Why Not Become the 51st State?

  • 3 mins

The Conservative Party is in the middle of a civil war, with insiders calling it highly disorganized and a mess. Instead of wasting time debating what conservatism should look like in Canada, why not settle on a clear message—embrace joining America as the 51st state? After all, no one does conservatism better than the United States.

If you're a conservative, why not advocate for statehood? The U.S. excels in privatization, and if you believe privatization is the answer to nearly every problem, why not align with a country that fully embraces it?

Freedom, Tax Cuts, and Privatization

American banks face fewer regulations than ours, which should appeal to anyone who sees red tape as a major roadblock to economic growth. Their prison system is far more privatized than ours—something Stephen Harper once pushed for—so that’s another win. You’re frustrated with Canada’s “catch and release” approach to criminals, and you believe we lack the right to self-defense. Well, in America, you can arm yourself and finally scratch that trigger finger.

Think we pay too much in taxes? U.S. income and corporate tax rates are generally lower. If you believe in trickle-down economics, then that’s yet another reason to push for closer integration with the American system.

Unhappy with our healthcare? The U.S. has a much larger private healthcare sector. Yes, you'll pay out of pocket, but you’ll also have access to the world’s best doctors—something that should appeal to anyone who thinks Canada’s system is too slow and inefficient.

Preservation

Worried about cultural homogeneity? America has cracked down on immigration to preserve its national identity—something you often argue Canada has failed to do.

Tired of “woke” education policies? Trump is working to eliminate the Department of Education altogether, and you’ve long criticized Canada’s schools for confusing children with progressive ideology. Why have a centralized education system when parents can simply teach their kids whatever they want?

Even government waste is being tackled more aggressively in the U.S. with the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge)—a move that should resonate with anyone who believes federal employees here receive too many benefits and contribute to a bloated system.

The list goes on—if conservatism is your priority, America is the ultimate role model.

broken

So, if you're a conservative, why not go all in and push harder for Canada to become the 51st state? Worried about maintaining your Canadian identity? What identity? As Pierre has been saying for the past year—Canada is broken. The so-called "lost liberal decade" has ruined everything, hasn’t it?

Don’t be shy about it. Make posters, wave banners, and proudly declare that we should embrace American conservative values. Worried that some members of your party might alienate moderates? Why tone down the message for them? Stick to your principles—don’t pander to centrists.

What is it about Canada that you even like? The mountains? The breweries? Hockey? You can still enjoy all of those as the 51st state. And let’s be honest—a significant part of Pierre’s base is sympathetic to Trump or outright admires him. They should feel valued and heard.

Mask off

Take the mask off. It’s okay. If you get pushback, you can just dismiss it as libtard nonesense, mainstream media, or fake polls. Of course, not every CPC voter wants to become the 51st state, but think about it deeply. America is the dream. They have nearly everything you want—lower taxes, privatized systems, self-defense rights, stronger state power, and more.

Just take the mask off.
